The iPhone is not only a great mobile phone, but it is also a great music player. Now, there are computer geeks out there (like me) who want to know all of the technical details of the iPhone. I’m here to put all of that information in a nice, organized article…

-Size and Dimensions-
The Apple iPhone (We’re going to stay focused on just the 3G) is a somewhat thick phone at almost half inch. The exact measurement is .48 inches, so saying half an inch seems pretty fair to me. The iPhone 3G also has a width of 2.4 inches, a height of 4 and half inches, and a total weight of 4.7 ounces, just a little more than a quarter of a pound.
-Capacity-
The iPhone has a total capacity of 8 GB or 16 GB, which is used as flash memory. This can be used for music, photos, videos, apps, games, and more. Just be careful not to go overboard!
-Bluetooth-
Oh yeah, the iPhone is Bluetooth integrated, which basically is a total thumbs up for blue tooth headsets. The version of Bluetooth it has is 2.0.
-Display-
A display of 3.5 inches of a widescreen-touch screen is very nice, especially at 480X320 pixels. These are at 163 Dpi, which is dots per inch. There are 163 dots or mini screen pixels per square inch. That’s a lot for something so small.
-Battery-
The battery isn’t too bad, but could be better. It could hold up to ten hours talk time on a 2G connection, but only five on a 3G. It can also only hold five hours when using Wi-Fi internet. However, a nice plus is that you can get up to 24 hours of audio playback on a single charge. If you aren’t satisfied with this battery life, there are external batteries that you can buy as well, just not from Apple. Search online to find some good deals.
Hopefully, by just reading this article, you can assume what the iPhone would feel like as it sat in your hand. Remember, this article is about the iPhone 3G. The newest, brightest model is the 3GS, however is more expensive. Some say it’s worth the extra money while some do not. Good luck in deciding which iPhone to get!
