The iPhone is the hottest phone and music player on the mobile market today. And because of its giant popularity, everyone and their sister is trying to hack into it to make it better. However, it’s very important to remember to not hack your iPhone is any manner whatsoever. This includes jail breaking, a process that allows third party apps to be installed. Sure, having a hacked iPhone can be cool and all; however it has many, many more drawbacks than benefits.

First off, it voids your warranty. Even if you purchased an extra Apple Care Protection Plan package, your warranty is still voided. Now, when you drop your iPhone on the hard floor and the screen cracks, you are going to have to pay for every single penny that it will cost to replace it. This includes all parts and labor.

Sure, you can totally delete everything on your iPhone by doing a full system restore on it, but this really does get rid of everything. You can kiss all of your music, videos, pictures, apps, games, contacts, settings and more goodbye. Is it really worth risking all of that just to get that third party application or cool background? Some simply don’t care if they have to this or not. But putting everything back onto your iPhone can be a really big hassle.

On top of having the risk to restore your iPhone, hacking it also slows it down a lot. It uses up more “RAM” on your iPhone, part of the circuitry that determines how many programs can be run at the same time. This can greatly make the start speed much, much slower, taking up to several minutes. Also, apps tend to crash a lot more, as well as open and close slower. You may also find that the screen freezes up a lot, if you decide to hack into your iPhone.

In all good honesty, the iPhone is a great device all on its own. There really is no good reason to hack it. You are always going to want to have a nice warranty on it. You also will want speed. Hopefully, you will see how bad hacking your iPhone can be – however some may give it a try. Just be sure to copy all of your files over, first!
