It is considered one of the best movies of all-time. It's ranked second in the IMDb's top, after the Shawshank Redemption, and before movies like Pulp Fiction, Schindler's List, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter or Matrix. It is marked with a respectable 9.2 on a scale from 1 to 10. The Godfather (1972) is topping movies from today, who have the advantage of time and technology. The book was written in 1969 by the famous Mario Puzo and is considered, as the movie, one of the best in their respective domain. I've read the book, unfortunately, after seeing all of the three parts of the movie, but I think it would have been more interesting the other way.
