We talked about France, Spain, Germany, Italy and Brazil until now. Today we will review England's team, which is my favourite for this World Cup. I never liked English football and England National Team either, but since I am a big fan of Italy's football, and Fabio Capello took over England, they became a team worthy to watch in my opinion. With many in-form player, a well prepared coach and a bunch of crazy fans, who will do utmost to support them, England seems one of the best team this year.

After a thrilling encounter one week ago, when Barcelona lost 3-1 against Internazionale Milano away, the Italian team was the favourite for going through the Semi Finals. Internazionale came on Camp Nou for defending the 2 goals lead, as their manager, Jose Mourinho, declared. With a disciplined squad, the Italians from Milano seeked the first Uefa Champions League Final after lots of years.

Brazil is always one of the favourite teams for the World Cup trophy. They alawys reach at least the quarter finals and most of the time can be found in the semi-finals or even the final. It was the case two World Cup competitions ago, when they won the Final against Germany, with two goals scored by Ronaldo in the second half. Football fans thought of Brazil as a disappoiting team at the last World Cup in Germany, when they were eliminated in the quarter finals by France. Henry scored then in the second half to send Ronaldinho & co. home. Their fans boowed them at the arrival on the airport, but the relationship between the squad and the supporters seems better now.

Football is known as a sport where the charimans are offering lots and lots of money to their players. There are lots of sponsors, lots of companies that would like to assign their name to a team. Bwin, the most known betting web site in the world is linked with Real Madrid and AC Milan. Unicef is linked with Barcelona. AIG is alongside Manchester United, while Pirelli is with Internazionale Milano. But where do you think all of those money go? Well, in the players' pockets. Italy is always one of the favourite teams at European Championships or World Cups. They won the World Cup four times in their history, last in 2006, and many think they seek the fifth trophy under the same Marcello Lippi that drove them to success four years ago. After the 2006 World Cup the famous Manager left the National Team, but he was re-appointed after Roberto Donadoni's disappointing reign. 

We carry on the preview of the 2010 World Cup from South Africa and we will try to highlight Spain's ups and downs. They were handed a pretty easy group thinking they are the best team in Europe, as they won the European Championship back in 2008, after the Final against Germany. They will battle Switzerland and Chile for the two qualifying places, while the last team in this group is Honduras. There are two teams from Europe and two from South America here. Honduras doesn't stand a chance, that's for sure, but this is an interesting group. Nobody expects Spain not to reach the first knockout round, but I think Chile and Switzerland will fight for the second place and may surprise everyone, even the European Champions.

I've seen many soccer, football or basketball games in my life and most of them are not that great as they should be. Our heroes always win the State Championship or the high school's competition. They never lose. That's not about making a good movie or not. That's about sport. Sport means something more than always winning which, by the way, never happens. One of the best movies I've seen which talks about sport is "Friday Night Lights" (2004). Even if I don't like American Football at all, which is a total copy of the rugby, this movie really made my day.
