Spyware! No! Go away! Spyware is bad news for anyone’s computer, and although you can (usually) easily remove it, sometimes they are pests and won’t go away. Or even worse… You think that they are gone whent hey are really lurking deep inside your computer.

There are many different types of spyware, some not as bad others. Some spyware is so bad that it just totally makes your computer unusable and requires a total system format and re-installation of the operating system. But this is just the worst case scenario. You shouldn’t have anything to worry about.

One of the worst types of spyware out there is CoolWebSearch. This program installs itself right onto a windows computer, and changed the homepage to coolwebsearch.com. On top of this, many pop ups will appear directing the user to pornography sites. It may also try to collect important information of the user, claiming it will “help get rid of the spyware.” The computer will also be slowed down. This piece of spyware also “attracts” more spyware with every click. The pop ups are just like windows to allow more spyware to enter the computer.

Adware is a type of spyware that can be bad. It just depends on the severity of the case. Adware basically monitors your every move you make. This includes shopping sites, web searches, emails, and more. There’s just one thing: Adware is legal! The terms and conditions of many programs clearly state that they use adware. If you remove the adware via a virus protection program, the program you installed may not work properly. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before installing any program!

These two types of spyware just mentioned should be watched out for the most. They can be deadly to your computer, and could even steal your identity. The internet backyard is tough, and it takes a strong cookie to survive. Don’t be eaten up by all this. If you play your cards right, you will be fine.
