Rapid technology update - Bluetooth version 4.0 in the end of June 2010

Azadam

I am so impressed by the rapid technology updates these days. I can’t simply let myself  buy any hi-tech stuff without concerning it will become low tech in only few months later. Shopping for technology stuffs is not as fun as before anymore. For they are always expensive and new updates will show up in few months later. Actually the sellers are more pity than the buyers. When the new products are available few months later in the market, their stocks of previous products will become very old fashion and nobody will buy them, so they have to sell them half price.

Same case with the Bluetooth. Bluetooth is a device to exchange information between electronic tools. It is the product of SIG (Special Interest Group), a group of five giant technology companies – Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Nokia and Toshiba. First Bluetooth, version 1.0 was released in July 1999 and the version 2.0 (with new 4 features – 3Com, Lucent Tech, Microsoft and Motorola) was released in December 1999. See? It only took five months to release a new updated Bluetooth. The version 3.0 + HS was released in April 2009 and version 4.0 is ready to be released in the end of this June 2010.

Bluetooth

According to SIG, the new generation of Bluetooth, Bluetooth version 4.0, has several incredible new features. Only little power needed to activate Bluetooth version 4.0, this is why it can be planted in a watch, remote control, and any houseware with sensor. Beside the low power activation mode, Bluetooth version 4.0 also has high speed mode in transferring data. If these are not good enough for you, then I’ll tell you that it can transfer data in the distance of more than 200 feet (previous Bluetooth can only do it in 30 feet distance). Very impressive right? Even the manufacturer dares to claim that Bluetooth version 4.0 is better than any available sensor technologies and data transferring devices. It is also able to fit any wireless devices, and they are hoping to sell devices with Bluetooth version 4.0 in the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011.

So, are you going to buy it in this June? Or we may wait a few months later for newer update? But if we keep waiting for the newest update, we’ll never actually buy anything. Haha…
