If the tragedy of Titanic is huge enough, because the story has been told over a century, then the story of Noah’s ark will be more than huge, for it has been told for almost five millenniums. Unlike Titanic, Noah’s ark has no witnesses who are still alive to verify the incident. The only trait to follow is the story from the Bible, and the only evidence is the ark itself.
According to Christian Bible, Noah’s ark landed on Mount Ararat, which is now in Turkey. But years of research has ended up with nothing. It is quite a miracle this group of Chinese and Turkish researchers finally found the Noah’s ark at the exact Mountain of Ararat in Turkey and announced it to the world on the previous April 26th 2010.
If you are asking if they are 100% sure about the ark, their answer will be ‘NO’. But they are 99% sure about its originality. They found the ruins of Noah’s ark at the 4000 meters height of Mount Agri or Mount Ararat in East Turkey. They even got in the ark, took some pictures and specimens for test. The carbon-test result stated that the ruins were 4.800 years old. This result was historically match. They also showed the specimen of the ark’s fossil to the media, such as the mine, nails and the broken wood of the ark. They believed that these mine, nails and wood were used to built rooms for animals in the ark.
This great discovery was directly reported to UNESCO, so that the United Nations would take an immediate action to preserve it. The researchers and archeologist wanted to move the ark at first, but that was impossible without breaking anything. So later they decided to leave the ark there with preservation.
Actually there have been many reports of the ark existence even before the discovery. A Turkish NATO pilot claimed to see a big ‘thing’ on the mountain. In 2006, satellite had a clear picture of an ark on the Mount Ararat. Some scientists who couldn’t find the ark said that it might be used by the origins to make shelters. Their statement is impossible, for 4.000 meters is very cold, nobody can live there. But thanks to this temperature, for it has been the best preservation for the existence of Noah’s ark.
