MusicDNA

The way to listen music is about to change. MusicDNA is a media extension that embeds additional content into music files so that users can enjoy more than the song.

MusicDNA, can include letters, videos, illustration and blogs, that will be able to be brought up to date continuously, along with the music.

The format was created by the Norwegian programmer Dagfinn Bach, who worked on the creation of MP3 format in 1993.

Meanwhile, the British record company Beggars Group has subscribed to use MusicDNA, as well as the American company Tommy Boy. But none of the large record labels is using it and the files of MusicDNA can probably be more expensive than the current discharges of music.

Moreover, MusicDNA will enter in direct competence with iTunes that offers all users extra songs for free, letters, and interviews in video.

"Standard audio is not enough to convince consumers to pay for content anymore. You have to bring them a better total music experience," said Bach chief executive officer Stefan Kohlmeyer.

MusicDNA will be able to provide a file that is extremely accessible and can transport 32GB of additional information on the same file.

MusicDNA will bring to the market a beta version this spring, and at the end of the summer will diffuse the format extensively.
