Learn How to Choose the Right Computer

Choosing a computer is very important whether you are a first buyer, a second buyer, or a twentieth buyer. No matter what computer you buy, it is going to make some kind of a difference, both on your household and on your wallet.

First off, what do you need your computer for? Are you planning on doing video editing or basic word processing? Internet browsing or playing Games? Most computers nowadays can do most of that and more, however some computers specialize in certain skills.

If you are planning on video editing, then be sure to get a computer with a high speed processor and lots of storage space for saving videos. The processor will help run the video editing program smoother. Memory RAM is also essential because it will allow you to open more than just the video editing program.

If all you need is a computer for some basic office work and occasional web browsing, then a simply every day computer should fit your needs perfectly. An average amount of RAM (2 to 3 GB), a good sized hard drive (320 GB), and even with a single Processor should actually be more than enough. But keep this in mind, it’s important to get a good processor, otherwise some programs may lag. A dual core Processor or better will be the best option these days.

Now, if you’re thinking of doing some 3D rendering or heavy duty programming and designing, then a “normal” computer may not be for you. You may want to consider getting an Apple computer or a computer with extremely heavy duty specs, including a 64 bit processor, with a High End Video Card, 4 GB of Memory ram, and a Quad Core Processor.

If you are looking for gaming for a gaming computer, then large specs are needed as well, mostly because of the high graphics. A high video card (256 MB or more) is more than essential. A good combination of a High End Video Card, Quad Core Processor, and lots of memory should cover your gaming experience. Apple computers do not work well for gaming, even though they can get extremely high in graphics. The Dell XPS series and Alienware computers are great for gaming.

As anyone can see, choosing a computer can be a difficult task. Just be careful and don’t buy more than you need or worse: not buying enough!
