iPad's keyboard being used by a man

Either you have an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, Apple designed pretty much the same virtual keyboard for all of them. You will definitely write a lot using the keyboard, so learning some shortcuts that could speed your writing up may help you in the future.

If you want to insert letters with character marks, such as ú or ò, you just have to tap the corresponding alphabet letter key for a short while and a pop-ul list will appear. Now you can select your character there from, but do not release the first tapped key before selecting the letter you want, or else the pop-up screen will most likely disappear.

The numeric keyboard shows the "$" symbol by default, but you may have to write about Pounds or Euros once in a while. If that's the case, then just tap the $ key, hold it and select the currency you want from the pop-up screen it will appear. If you want to introduce the degree mark, simply repeat the same process by holding down the"O" button in the ABC keyboard or the "0" (zero) button in the numeric keyboard. You have to do the same thing for changing the quotation mark style or for having a longer dash. Just hold down their respective default buttons and choose from the plenty of new styles you have.

If you want to write more consecutive words with capital letters (which can be annoying, but sometimes you would just have to do it) then you could either tap the Shift key after writing each letter, or enable caps lock under Settings -> General -> Keyboard and then double tap the shift key to turn it into a Caps Lock key. The new colour of the key will be blue and it will stay like that until you press on it again.

If you will have to use a web ending like .com, .org or .net in e-mails or web adresses, then you just have to hold down the ".com" key, and other You will be able to choose from other terminations. If you type an e-mail adress in the To / CC / BCC field, just hold down the "." button and you will be allowed to choose from a list of domain shortcuts.
