It's been confirmed in Newspapers and across the World Wide Web: Too much texting can lead to many problems, including neck problems, arm problems, wrist problems, and back problems. It can even lead to arthritis.
How can it hurt you? Well, when you text, your neck is always angled downwards, which in turn, can cause strain after awhile. And with some teens texting out full words instead of shortcuts like, "U," "BRB," "G2G," and, "TTYL." the neck can get more strained. With the neck being strained, the back is also strained, because the neck is connected to the back.
The wrists and hands get strained because they are also angled differently than normal. eventually, Carpo-Tunnel can and will develop. Along with this, arthritis can come along too.
Now, don't worry - There is a way to fix it! Try to not text as often or text long messages. If possible, try using the shortcut that are listen above. You never know how much it may help you!
Another way to fix it, if you haven't gotten one already, it to get a full sized keyboard phone like the EnV, iPhone, Droid, or Glyde. This will speed up texting by a lot. When typing with a normal keypad, texting can take awhile. Even with the "Word" function, is can be painful. Upgrading to a keyboard phone will help a lot.
All in all, just try to text as quick as possible. Don't strain your body. Keep it fresh, and limit your texting.
