Everyone wants a portable iPod. As long as it’s not bulky or chunky, then it should be good for most people. iPods have a large variety of shapes and sizes and weights. Finding the right one to your needs may be a bit hard. Hopefully this article can really help you out in that process.

The iPod Classic is the heaviest and bulkiest of all the models. If you are a “stationary” that doesn’t do much exercising or is usually in the car a lot, then the iPod Classic should be right for you. This iPod also uses a hard drive for memory instead of flash memory. This also makes it harder to run or exercise with.

The next in weight would be the iPod Touch. This model is portable to a certain extent. It can be used in exercising or jogging, mostly because it uses flash memory. There are arm bands that are made that can make it an ideal running partner.

The iPod Nano model is very light and can easily be exercised with. This iPod is perfect for portability, and fits into the hand perfectly. It has a good sized screen. The overall size of the iPod Nano makes it perfect to either run with while it’s in your hand or in an arm band. Either way it can make a great running companion.

The iPod Shuffle is the small music player in the world. This can clip onto your clothes or be engulfed in your hand. It can be controlled by the special headphones it comes with or by some of the controls on the iPod itself. If you want the ultimate exercise partner, this would be the right device to choose.

As you can see, the smaller the iPod is, the easier it is to exercise with. However, sometimes consumers don’t want portability – they want features. The iPod Touch maxes out in features with the iPod Shuffle dwindling in last place. However, if you want a good, sturdy, small and light exercise companion, the iPod Shuffle should be right for you.
