Have you ever found yourself in a situation that after install your Windows XP Updates your system crash? These kinds of events are getting more common these days. The main problem here is that we may think that this update problem is from Microsoft itself.
However, let me tell you that many times the cause of the problem is because you have a hidden infection like a rootkit.
A rootkit is an infection that goes inside the Windows operating system and hide deep to avoid detection.
As a computer experience guy, I have been in cases with friends and clients that this problem happens, and the first reaction I get from them is “that’s why I don’t install updates.”
Microsoft now is implementing a new method to offer latest updates for Windows XP users. The latest securities from the company, which were released on April 16, are going to come with an especial detection tool where they will be able to check if your computer is at risk of an imminent crash after updates.

In a statement Microsoft says “These abnormal conditions on a system could be the result of an infection with a computer virus that modifies some operating system files, which renders the infected computer incompatible with the kernel update."
With this Microsoft is trying to avoid unwanted system crashes to its users. The best and most common way to protect your system against infections is keeping your antivirus up to date. It is always a recommendation when downloading programs from internet or when opening files from e-mails scan the documents. Finally try to avoid the P2P networks or downloading illegal music and movies, because they could contain hidden vulnerabilities for your computer.
