Nowadays, everyone is looking for a laptop. Those people that are in desperate need of one will usually just buy any old, (or new) regular laptop. However, it’s important to get the right kind of laptop for you. In this article, we will discuss on what type of laptop is best for each individual.

First off, are you a Mac or a PC? Mac laptops, also known as MacBooks, are used mainly for music and/or video editing. PC laptops, (the “normal” laptops), are used for just about everything else, and for a decent price. However, we are only going to be focusing on normal PC laptops today, not MacBooks.

Are you looking for speed, portability, gaming, heavy duty work, or just basic usage? It’s important to not buy something that has too many features for you, and it’s important to not buy something that doesn’t have enough features. This could result in bringing it back to a store, bringing it a computer shop for upgrading, or just never using it.

The bigger the laptop can usually mean the bigger the price, and the more features you will get. Manufacturers can fit lots of features into a laptop with a screen size of seventeen inches as opposed to nine inches.

If you want portability, and aren’t too worried about high-tech features, and eeePC or NetBook may be right for you. These are basically lower-prices mini laptops. They usually lack a CD drive, however are known to be incredibly fast if the user selects a solid state drive option.

For gaming, Alienware and the Dell XPS model line are great for gaming. They are usually on the expensive side of the price range, but are worth it if you want a good gaming computer.

There are plenty of laptops that can have lots of features. HP and Dell are likely to have the strongest laptops out there; however it is very fair to say that Alienware also has a few powerful laptops, even though they are meant for gaming.

This is just a basic throw down on laptops and can help you decide on what to get. Good luck finding a new laptop!
