The Apple headphones that come as standard with every new iPod you purchase today can wear out within weeks, meaning that you are going to have to buy a new pair headphones. The Apple headphones are good quality; don’t let that fool you, but they can start to lose their power and the cord may get worn. When this happens, only one headphone may work, and we all know how annoying that is.

Nowadays, in ear headphones are becoming more popular. However, some in ear headphones can have the in ear part of them come off, resulting in pointlessness. Some in ear headphones, however, are very durable and sturdy, much like the in ear Apple headphones that are available for purchase at an Apple store or online.

As well as in ear headphones, noise cancelling headphones have made it big as well. However, it is important to remember that noise cancelling headphones are more expensive, generally speaking. The more noise they can block out, the more expensive they can be.

When buying a good pair headphones, it is also important to look at noise leakage. You don’t want to bring headphones to a library with your new iPod, and have everyone around you hear your music. Whether your taste in music is good or bad, it can be impolite to have your music leaking out. Once again, you will be paying more to have less leakage.

Headphones today can range from a dollar at the dollar store, and all the way up to a couple hundred. The ones at the dollar store may last a few days, and the ones for a few hundred dollars could last up to two years, and even longer if you are lucky.

It’s important to take great care of any kind of headphones. Keeping headphones untangled and not blasting them to their max is a very smart way to keep them going strong. Tangled headphones can cause the wire to snap or break at the angle, which can cause one or both of the headphones pieces to stop working. This can be very frustrating – and annoying. All I can say now is good luck in your hunt!
