Fruits and veggie lovers : watch out for pesticide

Wizan

Human is actually a vegetarian being. Human has 8-meter intestines and short fangs, which are meant to digest veggies and fruits. Compare this with the intestines and fangs of a carnivore, let’s say a dog. Dog has 20-30 centimeter intestines and long fangs. Its gastric acid is also twice the herbivore’s. This  condition is perfect for digesting meat.

For human beings are meant to eat fruits and veggies, although meat is ok to consume, it is healthier for us to stay on the guideline. However, today’s fruits and veggies are not as healthy as before. They are mostly poisonous because of the pesticide sprayed to them, to protect them from bugs, grubs and fungus. These pesticides are strong and may not easily be washed away only by water. This is very dangerous, for you are consuming an amount of pesticide everytime you eat the fruits or veggies. It’s not the health you will get, indeed the poison that leads to cancer and many other diseases. But you may be 80% safe from pesticide if you choose organic fruits and veggies, because USDA rules for food department prohibit any pesticide applied to crops with ‘organic’ label.

Fruits and Veggies

According to the 2010 reports and surveys, the below fruits and veggies have the highest residue of pesticide :

  1. Celery ( the most dangerous). Celery has no protective skin, so it is impossible to wash away the absorbed pesticide. Choose an organic celery, or you can substitute it with broccoli, radishes and onions.
  2. Peaches. There are 62 types of pesticide which are usually applied on its delicate skin. If there are no organic peaches, you may substitute it with watermelon, orange, tangerine, and grape.
  3. Strawberries. Especially when it is not its season, must have been imported from other countries with lack-pesticide awareness. If you can’t find the organic ones, try to substitute with kiwi and pineapple.
  4. Apples. Just like peaches, impossible to wash away its pesticide. Peeling its skin is useless too, and you’ll need the skin because it’s full of nutrition. If you can’t find the organic apple, substitute it with tangerine, watermelon and banana.
  5. Blueberries. One of the dirtiest berries with almost 52 types of pesticide applied on it.
  6. Nectarines. It has 33 types of pesticide applied on it. Can’t find any organic, substitute it with watermelon, papaya and mango.
  7. Bell peppers. Most sprayed with insecticides. Can’t find any organic? Replace it with green peas, broccoli and cabbage.
  8. Spinach. Sprayed with 48 different pesticides. Watch out!
  9. Kale. Though it has a strong protective skin, this year research found out that it has high amount of pesticide. Can’t find any organic? Change it with cabbage, asparagus and broccoli.
  10. Cherries. Not safe at all. If there is no organics, then substitute it with cranberries and raspberries.
  11. Potato contains 37 types of pesticide. Can’t find any organics? Substitute it with eggplant, cabbage and earthly mushroom.
  12. Grapes. Not safe too. The pesticides can’t be washed away by water. If no organics, substitute it with kiwi and raspberries.
