Facebook blocking websites that lets you eliminate your Facebook accountPosted by: spectrateam Tagged in: Facebook

Facebook seems not to be fan of websites that let users delete their social network profiles. Last week, I was reading about an application call Seppukoo, which lets you erase your Facebook account. What happen with them? They were banned by Facebook. Today, while browsing, I found another application called Web 2.0 Suicide Machine that it is suffering the same illness.
I just visited their website, in where they stated the following:
“After more than 50.000 friends being unfriended and more than 500 forever "signed-out" users, Facebook started to block our suicidemachine from their servers without any comment! We are currently looking in ways to circumvent this ungrounded restriction imposed on our service!
Thanks for your understanding
Sincerly,
Your 2.0 suicide team”
It seems pretty clear why Facebook does not like these sites. It looks, like they are going to go against these sites by a legal way. However, we need to wait to see what actually happens.
In the case that you missed it, with the new Facebook policy you can eliminate your Facebook account, but there have been many reports is not true that even the New York Times talks about it. It is not easy or it can really be a big headache eliminating your account.
It is like Facebook is struggling to keep its profiles from virtual extinction at the hands of its arch enemy
If you want to really delete your account you can always join this group and stick around.
The group is call “How to permanently delete your Facebook account” with over 37,000 members already. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=16929680703
