Nobody wants Spyware. It’s just not pleasant, not for you or your computer. They are pesky and very easy to get, so it is important to know how to avoid all the different types of spyware out there. Some spyware forms are more serious than others, and can cause more damage to your computer. However, most types of Spyware are able to get taken off your computer.
Spyware is basically a small piece of software that invades your computer. The Spyware itself isn’t illegal; however what the spyware does is illegal. Spyware will “spy” on your computer usage, watch you enter passwords, credit card info, personal info, and more. It will then send this information back to the “mother” computer, or the computer that created the piece of software.
It’s very easy to get spyware, as spyware is very deceitful, and tricks you into installing it. This may be through some cool 3D Wallpaper installer or some nice new cursors. One piece of software is the Bonzi Buddy, which claims to help children surf the web, when all it really does is install more spyware onto your computer. By installing the coolwebsearch.com toolbar, you will also be getting spyware. Be careful! These programs really work and function on your computer, and although are claimed to be free, they do cost you the price of having your computer infected.
You can also inherit spyware by going on or visiting special sites. These sites may include illegal sites such as keygen programs, pirating sites, adult sites, and more. You’ll want to get rid of it as soon as possible, mostly because all of your information is being sent all over the internet. This is not a good thing!
All you’ll have to do is either upgrade your current anti-virus program or actually buy one if you don’t have one already. These can get expensive, so only get what you need, not what you think you need. You most likely just need something that cleans up your computer quickly and easily. AVG FREE, and Avast Home FREE Antivirus are two very good anti-spyware software types.
Good luck! Let’s hope you don’t end up having spyware. And if you do have it now, let’s hope that you can get rid of it!
