Differences between Generic Computers and Brand ComputersPosted by: spectrateam Tagged in: Generic Computers

Many differences sit between generic computers and name brand computers. There’s just one big question: Which should you go for?
The biggest difference between generic computers and name brand computers is the price. Some may think the quality, but from personal experience, I’ve learned that the generic computers are just as good as the name brand computers, if not better. If you take care of something, then it is bound to last quite awhile. I must say, however, that the performance differences are hardly noticeable at all. Look at it this way… If you have a can of generic peas and a can of name brand peas, could you taste the difference? I know I certainly can’t.
However, buying a generic computer is not as easy as buying a name brand computer. Name brand computers allow you to customize your computer more, go through options while “building” your computer online, and even making it a different color. Usually with generic computers, however, you must take what they have for you. It’s almost always a set-in-stone configuration, so to speak. However these days many generic computer companies are offering what brand computers are giving you, especially on the customization of your hardware.
Generic computers will still come with the same operating system as name brand computers do, most of the time. If not, you may have to install your own operating system. A free operating system is Ubuntu, and it works very well on almost any type of computer. Generic computer will not take Mac OS, as the generic computers are made with PC parts. This can be a bummer to some people. If you want Mac OS, you must buy yourself in Apple labeled computer, which can prove to be very expensive.
Some people, however, want to have a brand named computer for security reasons such as warranty. Sometimes, generic computers don’t offer any kind of warranty at all, so if it does break, you are out of your money. There is nothing wrong with generic computers, either. As said before, if you take care of something, it will last for awhile, whether it’s a computer, car, or even a dog.
