Do you get the feeling that your desktop looks boring sometimes? Are you fed up with seeing your friends, family members or Christmas pictures in front of you when you chat, surf the internet or even work? Then you definitely need a new wallpaper. Here’s a top five of the best wallpapers web pages I’ve found around the internet:
Number 5: Wallpapers.com
Wallpapers.com gets the 5th place because I like they sort the pictures by “Static”, “Animated” and “Wallery”. Wallery is something I’ve never heard of before, but they describe it like “a special product that will rotate through multiple static wallpapers”. It is something like a screensaver, but unfortunately it requires Windows XP to work, so it’s not something you’ll be able to try on your brand new Windows 7 Ultimate. Anyway, the template of the page looks nice and the search is simple, but it definitely shouldn’t be your first choice.

Number 4: eWallpapers.eu
Besides the fact that they have good quality photos, they offer wallpapers in huge formats, like 5120x1600, 3200x1200 or 2560x1024, and also for iPods, PSPs and iPhones. The top downloaded wallpaper was accessed more than 238.000 times and downloaded over 115.000 times, so this proves that eWallpapers is well-known over the internet.

Number 3: Wallpapers.net
I’ve decided to award the bronze medal to them because of the large database they provide. With more than 30.000 wallpapers, they are one of the largest websites in the world related to photos. They have lots of HD and also wide-screen pictures. There’s a big variety to choose from and I am sure that from this kind of database, it’s impossible not to find something that suits your desktop.

Number 2: HD Wallpapers
This may not have a large database like the others, but it provides stunning shots here and there. Besides the normal categories, such as Abstract, Cars, Animals, Celebrities or Nature, HD Wallpapers also offers pictures from other domains. For example, under the “Movie” category you can find “300”, “American Gangster”, “Spider Man 3”, “Transformers” etc. From the “TV Series” you’ll be able to download wallpapers from “Desperate Housewives”, “House MD”, “Lost” or “Prison Break”. Personally, I think the “Travel” and the “Cars” categories should be the first you would like to check.

Number 1: deviantART or the place where art meets application.
I’ve started using deviantART more than three years ago and trust me, I’ve never became disappointed with it. As a photographer, I’ve always submitted my work there and most of the time received the critique I wanted to. As a designer, I found many icons and IT related stuff that I used for my work. As photography lover, I always found everything I looked for using deviantART, and I am sure that this web page will still provide enough interest to keep me as an active user.
The search is simple, fast and accurate. You’ll always find what you look for. If you have an account, then you can subscribe to the other photographers and receive their work directly into you inbox. DeviantART may be more complex than the other four pages, and it may also be designed especially for professional photographers and artists, but even as a normal user, I am sure you will have a nice time browsing through the work of many, many deviants. Above all that, deviantART just reached 100 million uploads (also plus poetry and stuff like that), so I am sure that there’s no other photo website with so much to offer.
